Visual Studio Code is a better alternative than Atom. It is suggested that you use Visual Studio Code instead.

Installation on Ubuntu

You can install Atom on Ubuntu using the following command.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/atom
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install atom

vim-mode-plus is a good neovim-based vim mode plugin for Atom.
